Shipper FAQs

General Info

  • What is a Freight Broker?

A freight broker is an individual or a company that brings together a shipper who needs to transport goods with an authorized motor carrier who wants to provide the service. Freight brokers provide an important and valuable service to carriers and shippers, helping carriers fill the trucks and helping shippers find reliable carriers.

  • Why use a Freight Broker?

Many businesses have limited resources to staff an in-house logistics department.  Instead, they outsource that work to a freight management provider or broker. Freight brokers communicate daily with the trucking and transportation industries and have the expertise to negotiate competitive freight rates while maintaining the customer’s delivery schedule.
